Secretary of State John Kerry, who met Israeli and Palestinian leaders during a Mideast trip last month, is set to meet them again next week.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Mr. Kerry is adding stops in Turkey, Israel and the West Bank to his upcoming trip to London and Northeast Asia. He departs this weekend.

Ms. Nuland said Mr. Kerry would rely on his relationships with Israeli and Palestinian leaders to continue building trust in the hope of advancing prospects for talks.

Ms. Nuland also said that Mr. Kerry would stop in Istanbul before going to Israel, giving him an opportunity to spur both sides to continue steps to deepen their normalization, a process that began under prodding from Mr. Kerry and President Barack Obamaduring the Mideast trip last month.

The Asian stops, which were previously announced, will include Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo.
