We know Donald Trump’s candidacy is causing a lot of head scratching in the United States, but what do people in Pakistan think about his political ascension and the possibility that he could become the leader of the free world?
During an annual Daniel Pearl Foundation panel discussion in Los Angeles, Rob Eshman, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Jewish Journal, posed that question to current Daniel Pearl Fellow Amal Khan and former Fellow Aoun Sahi. (The short answer: “Americans are nuts!”) Amal and Aoun also talked about the growth of social media interaction in Pakistan and the impact it’s had, both positive and negative.
