She is a journalist and has also worked at several nonprofit agencies in Haiti. Nathalie is married to Roberson Alphonse, and she was supposed to be in the car with Roberson on the day that he was wounded. She found him in the hospital and, as soon as he could travel, helped him move to the fellowship at Michigan. The director of the Michigan Knight program, Lynette Clemetson, says that Nathalie has been one of the best contributors to the program over the last year.
