Marie Lilly Delgado
Lilly is a high-profile news freelancer correspondent for international media networks located in the United States, and a media consultant. While working in Nicaragua, she began receiving threats from those close to the government of President Daniel Ortega, who had shut down 50 publications in the country. Lilly was placed under house arrest and soon realized that her only choices were exile, jail or worse. She escaped the country, joining over 200 Nicaraguan journalists who now live in exile throughout the Americas. She is now working for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises as a freelancer from Miami.
