Sahar Majid is a copy editor for Dawn, the most widely circulated English language newspaper in Pakistan and the flagship publication of Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL). In 2007, she joined Dawn, where she monitors, selects, assigns and edits articles and supervises the newspaper’s layout from the Karachi office.

Before joining DAWN, Majid worked for the Daily Star, an evening PHPL newspaper.

Recently Majid participated in the US-Pakistan Professional Partnership in Journalism – an initiative of the International Center for Journalists. In 2010, she attended the Summer Academy of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) in Germany. 

“Through this fellowship, I hope to learn more about computer-assisted reporting and develop my reporting and news writing skills,” says Majid. She would also like to learn about newsroom management.
